Rosneft announced the winners of the Best Mentor 2022 competition in Moscow.

The Best Mentor competition is an annual event that assesses how effective each mentor is with their mentees and measures the effectiveness of the development of the mentoring system within the participating enterprises. At the same time, the competition is an opportunity to share experiences and best mentoring practices that can be implemented across the Company.

In 2022, the competition involved more than 9,000 mentors of young workers and young professionals from 98 Company enterprises. In the final stage of the competition, 419 of the best mentors participated, of which 55 were identified as winners in the Company’s 6 business blocks:

• «Upstream»,
• «Refining and Oil & Gas Chemistry»,
• «In-house services»,
• «Corporate Services (CSIS)»,
• «Oil product supply»,
• «Shipbuilding and Ship Repair».

In 2023, development events were organised for all finalists based on the results of the competition.  Fifty-five mentors from the 36 enterprises – winners, runners-up and nominees from the second stage of the competition – were invited to a business conference in Moscow. For the remaining mentors in the second stage, the development activities – seminars and training sessions – are delivered remotely.

Mentoring is an essential element in the accumulation and transfer of professional knowledge, skills and experience to young employees. The corporate mentoring system includes: training and development of novice and experienced mentors, monitoring of mentoring system indicators, participation of mentors in corporate, industry and international professional skills competitions and championships.

2023 has been declared the Year of the Teacher and Mentor by Presidential Decree No. 401 of 27 June 2022, and mentoring has been defined as a national value and idea.
