Rosneft Employees Organise Events Dedicated to the Day of Knowledge

Rosneft enterprises organised festive events and congratulated school children on the beginning of the new academic year.

On the eve of Knowledge Day at more than 1,500 filling stations, young guests received colorful lesson schedules for convenient planning of their school schedule. In addition, in early September, Rosneft’s retail network of filling stations, with the support of regional departments of the State Road Safety Inspectorate, will hold extracurricular lessons on road safety for school children in more than 15 regions of Russia. The Company will organise informative contests and game-based events «Rosneft for Road Safety» for children in St. Petersburg and Arkhangelsk.

In the Tyumen region, employees of Kharampurneftegaz and the Corporate Science Center donated school briefcases filled with necessary stationery to the Boomerang of Good charity fund. In addition, employees of the Science Centre prepared backpacks for children from the Tyumen district boarding school, and Kharampurneftegaz gave gifts to 45 young people from Donbass who visited Tyumen as part of the University Shifts project.

Nyaganneftegaz employees provided charitable assistance to physically challenged children. Funds raised by oil workers have been used to buy stationery, art kits, school and seasonal clothing and orthopaedic backpacks.

In time for the new school year, a new computer class was opened at the school in the village of Yembaevo in the Tyumen region, funded by Uvatneftegaz. Nearly 350 children in the region started first grade this year, with school bags and supplies provided by the enterprise.

Tyumenneftegaz employees supported the annual charity initiative «A school bag for a first-grader». Volunteers helped families raising physically challenged children under the care of the Tyumen city public organisation «Special Child».

In the Samara region, volunteers from the Novokuibyshevsk refinery collected more than 1,000 school and stationery items – from erasers to backpacks – for children in the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.

Employees of the Novokuibyshevskaya Petrochemical Company helped children from the Chapaevsky Social Rehabilitation Centre for Physically Challenged Children get ready for school.

Thanks to Samaraneftegaz, a major reconstruction of the Chapaevsky Chemical and Technological College building was carried out this year. The Syzran Refinery supported the opening of one of the buildings of School No. 29 in Syzran, where junior school students study, after a major overhaul.

Bashneft employees have traditionally participated in the Gift for School volunteering campaign. Children from orphanages and social rehabilitation centres in Ufa, Naryanmar and Dyurtuley, Neftekamsk, Oktyabrsky, Ishimbay, and districts of the Republic of Bashkortostan received help. In total, nearly 700 children from more than 20 institutions received school supplies.

Bashneft-Dobycha volunteers provided assistance to children of families from the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics stationed in Ufa. The future first-graders received sports kit – a tracksuit and trainers – from the oil workers.

Similar events were held in many regions of our country. For example, employees at the Angarsk polymer plant organised a «pack-a-child-for-school» campaign. Volunteers from the Komsomolsk Refinery took part in a charity initiative and helped children from the sponsored orphanage No. 20 in the village of Khurba.

In Izhevsk, young professionals from the Corporate Science Centre donated stationery, educational games and backpacks to low-income families in the village of Chutyr in the Igrinsky district and to children at a boarding school. Udmurtneft employees collected about 200 books for children’s institutions in Sarapulsky district. Volunteers from Orenburgneft organised a campaign and presented more than 100 backpacks with stationery to children in difficult circumstances.

Employees of the Saratov Oil Refinery took part in the Tree of Kindness charity event and donated the items collected to the Returning Social Rehabilitation Centre for Minors. Employees of the Achinsk Refinery collected more than two thousand items for children from families living in difficult circumstances in the Bolsheuluysky district of Krasnoyarsk region.

In Krasnoyarsk, young professionals from RN-Vankor and Vostsibneftegaz took part in the traditional «Kind Car Rally». This is an annual initiative in which volunteers help children from low-income families and social housing in the city get ready for school. As part of the rally, oil workers delivered backpacks and all the necessary school supplies to children’s homes.

In addition, last year RN-Vankor funds were used to renovate schools in Igarka and Turukhansk, and two schools in Krasnoyarsk were equipped with a sensory room and a sports field for children with disabilities.
